Q. My pet is on a special diet that requires refrigeration and heating. Can the diet be accommodated?

A. Of course, each of our guests have a cupboard in their suite to store their personal luggage and
dietary needs. This ensures each pet is served their own food provided from home thus eliminating upset stomachs and further stress. Any food that requires refrigeration or heating will be properly labeled and stored in our on site kitchen. In this area we can prepare the food to the owners specification with ease. We do not charge any additional fees for storing or preparing special diets. We do ask that the pet is provided with their own food in portioned baggies or small containers. We are unable to accommodate large bags of food for storage unless your pet is boarding long term. If you do not wish to provide food for your pet we will provide Purina One at an additional fee of $3.00 per meal.

Q. My pet takes oral medication and is sometimes in need of injections. Is there staff available for this service and what is the cost?

A. Absolutely! Our owner, Cathy, was a veterinarian technician for many years prior to opening the luxury pet hotel. She is able to administer all medications including oral, subcutaneous, and intravenous dosages. All of our staff members are trained to administer basic pill and liquid medications. In most situations there is NO additional charge for these services. It is just one part of our total care of your pampered pet.

Q. How often does my pet get to go outside and do I have to pay extra for this service?

A. Kitties are not given yard privileges but instead enjoy a spacious suite with a window. Their rooms are cleaned a minimum of twice a day and during that time they are free to roam around the secure cat room while housekeeping performs their duties. Kitties are allowed access to the main room individually or in same family groups only. This is included in the daily boarding rate. If you wish for your pampered puss to have more time to explore our fish bowls and cat trees just let us know and we will add “jungle and exploration time” for a small fee. Kitties also enjoy extra lap time or brushing and even a bath so be sure to let us know if your pet would like any spa
services. Our pampered canine guests will enjoy our manicured yards 4-5 times a day at lengths of time appropriate for the pets health, temperament and weather conditions. This is included in the daily boarding rate. Generally they will exercise with other pets of the same temperament and size, but of course our “grumpier” guests are welcome commune with nature individually. We also offer additional playtime, golf cart rides, lap time and special attention for a small fee. As we do not have drains in our floors we are constantly monitoring the pets need to relieve themselves, much like you do at home. We live on the premises so our mornings start early and our last potty break at night is generally at 11 pm or later. We have your pets comfort in mind and do our best to minimize any crossed legs.

Q. May I add any additional activities or spa services to my pets stay?

A. We offer full bathing services for your pet while boarding, or if they just need a spa day you are welcome to make an appointment. We offer nail trims, baths, anal expressions, and ear cleanings for both dogs and cats. As for activities, if making new friends and being pampered to the max isn’t enough, spoil your dog with a golf cart ride, lap time, or some quality one on one with our staff. We also offer treats for dogs in the form of doggy ice cream, Pupsicles, peanut butter filled Kong’s, and gourmet cookies. Treat your dog to a nightcap! Kitties can enjoy a catnip treat or snack, just ask!!

Q. I know that I am going to miss my pet, what do I do?

A. You are always welcome to call and check on your pet. We will be glad to let you know about the pampering they have been receiving. If you are unable to contact us or are out of the country, no worries! Your pet can contact you!  You will be able to sleep soundly knowing your pet is enjoying their vacation as much as you are enjoying yours.

Q. I want to have a birthday party for my dog, can you help me?

A. We LOVE to have pet birthday parties. Our secure play areas are the perfect setting for birthday parties, dog club meetings and pet reunions. If you can dream it we can make it happen. Don’t worry about the cake, we will provide all of your guests both two and four pawed with refreshments. You can also just use the space and provide your own. Rain, no problem! We have large lobby and can make it festive for you. Don’t be shy, everyone loves a party even cats and dogs! When our resident hotel kitties turned one year old we had a party for them and they loved it!

Q. I have a doctor’s appointment in Tampa and I don’t want to leave my dog alone all day. Would I be able to pick my dog up late?

A. We offer daycare for both dogs and cats. Don’t let you day out shopping or visiting with friends be cut short because “we have to go home to let the dog out”. We are open at 8:00 am and close at 6:00 pm Monday thru Saturday ( Our facility is closed to the public from 10:00 am -4:00 pm for Rest/Play Time), so you are able to drop off early and enjoy your day and still have time to pick up the same day. On Sundays we are open 10am-11am and 5pm-6pm. Daycare is also useful when getting your carpet cleaned or repair people are expected. We would love to have your pet for a play day and you will enjoy the peace of mind of knowing your pet will not be accidentally let out by workmen or visiting friends. Our daycare is also popular with people showing their homes for sale, and out of town appointments. We offer daycare at the cost of $20 per dog(under 50#) or $25 per dog (over 50#). Inquire regarding extended hours in early am for drop off.

Q. I have more than one pet, can they stay together?

A. Most likely, yes. We have rooms that can accommodate multiple pets of different sizes from the same household. When multiple pets stay in the same room(s), discounts may apply depending on the size of the pets. Please contact us to see in which room(s) you pets will be most comfortable. Our primary focus is on your pets comfort so we will work with you to choose the appropriate room for you multiple pets sizes and your budget. Unfortunately to ensure the safety of the pets that are in mixed cat and dog family we are unable to keep both together. We will be happy to arrange visits between the family members if you wish.

Q. My dog is more of a “people” dog and doesn’t really care to be with other dogs, can he still stay at the hotel?

A. We can accommodate any temperament of cat or dog. Please let us know in advance of your pets preference. We have multiple secure yards and are able to give private space to those that need it. This is generally without any additional charges. Please notify us of any behaviors prior to the pet staying with us so that we can assure both your pets and other guests comfort and safety.

Q. I have boarded my pet at other facilities and I have been unhappy with the fact that the staff leaves at 5:00 pm and does not return until 7-8 am the next morning. Some facilities only have a staff member make one or two visits on the weekends. What is your schedule?

A. This is a valid concern, most kennels and vets offices operate in this manner. As the owner and staff live on the premises it is not a hardship to make sure your pets comfort is foremost in our minds. We start our days before 7 am and in most cases a least 1 staff member is in the building until 11 pm or later. As we do not have drains in the floors the pets must be taken out to ensure our standard of cleanliness, and the utmost in pet comfort. No one wants to “hold it” for 12-14 hours and your pet is no exception. If an accident should occur we handle it just as you would in your home, mop, clean bedding and reassuring words. Our schedule is maintained 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Even when we are not open to the public our primary focus is your pet.

Q. Do I need to bring my pets own bedding, bowls, and food?

A. We do ask that you provide your pet with their usual diet. This minimized upset stomachs and the complications that follow. Please portion your pets food for their stay and include detailed instructions for unusual or multi-step feedings. You are welcome to bring anything with your pet that you think will make their stay more pleasurable. However, much like sending a child to camp do not send anything that they absolutely can not live without. We will do the best we can to return all items and in the same condition that they arrived, but we can not foresee laundering accidents or other pets “borrowing” a favorite toy taken in the play yard. Unless your pet has a special feeder or bed we will provide him/her with the finest in doggy linens and dinnerware. This applies to kitties as well. We do provide Nature’s Best Cat Litter to our feline guests. If you do not wish you cat to use this litter, please provide us with her approved brand.

Q. I have left my pet at home and had a neighbor check on him in the past, but the last time he escaped and it took hours to catch him. I don’t ever want that to happen again, what measures do you take to ensure my pets safety?

A. Asking a neighbor to watch your pet is a common practice, but not often the best option. Our staff is trained to care for your pets physical, mental, and emotional health. Our yards are secure with entry/exits only in the building. Our doors automatically shut when passing through and have to be pulled to open. The individual pet rooms lock from the outside preventing escapees. When we are not open to the public our premises are not accessible except by staff members with remote entry. Your pets physical safety is not the only concern when leaving them for extended periods. When staying at home, whether with a neighbor or a pet sitter checking on them, the pet is only exposed to human contact a few hours a day in the best scenario. While receiving luxury accommodations your pet is interacted with and entertained 16-18 hours a day, simulating a real home environment at our pet hotel. Long stays away from a pets owner can cause the pet to lose appetite and trigger depression. It is important to be able to recognize these signs and take appropriate action. Often the neighbor or the once a day pet sitter will not observe problems with pets until it has reached the point that veterinarian care is required. Frequently this leads to unnecessary cost and inconvenience to the owner and undue stress to the pet. Often the neighbor or pet sitter is not prepared to pay for vet services in a emergency where payment is expected immediately. Our staff is able to monitor your pet and provide professional additional care if required to ensure you pet returns to you in the best possible health and happiness.
